Glen Parva and Glen Hills Local Nature Reserve has been awarded the Green Flag for 2022-2023.

We, as always owe a huge thankyou to all of our volunteers who have helped to make this area a very special place for our community and beyond and to achieve this wonderful accolade.

Volunteering in the Nature Reserve.

If you wish to get involved and have any part or full days available or even a couple of hours once a month, Glen Hills and Glen Parva Nature Reserve are looking for volunteers to join them in keeping the Reserve beautiful for everyone to enjoy all year round, please 'contact us' for further information.

Location.

The Reserve is located to the west of Glen Parva, Leicestershire, within the Sence and Soar Valley South Green wedge. It has good public transport links and the Sustrans National Cycle Route 6 passes through the middle of the site.

The total area of the two reserves is 12.1 hectares

Blaby District Council 6.7 hectares

Glen Parva Parish Council 4.7 hectares

Leicester City Council 0.5 hectares

Leicestershire County Council 0.2 hectares

Entry Points.

In total there are seven entry points into the Reserves, north to south they are:

* Sustrans Route 6
* The Bridle
* Glen Rise
* BlueBanksBridge
* Dorothy Avenue Recreation Ground
* Parsons Drive
* Needham Avenue
